Plot Summary:             There is no plot to this book. It is a fast-paced read and Handler takes you from one drunken escapade after another with men of all shapes, sizes, colors and personalities. You feel like Handler is telling  you all in one long, rapid breath. This is an uncouth tale of sex encounters under varying states of drunken stupor. There was little to enjoy in this book. Handler represents this as all people are real.  She portrays no one in a nice light.   However, if you enjoy the crude humor of Chelsea Lately, you might just find yourself laughing at some of this woman's exploits.  I do not recommend this as a read for anything other than titillation.

Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson is his tale of an "individual's power to change lives."  Mortenson, a homeless mountaineer, is inspired by mountain villagers in Pakistan and promises to build a school.  In 10 years he builds 55 schools, built especially for the girls of this volatile region.  Inspiring story.

Fifth Gave Past the Light is the fifth in a series about Charley Davidson, a female paranormal private eye/grim reaper.  This novel is great and follow Charley as she ask for an arsonist's help with a case involving her sister.  This is a marvelous supernatural detective mystery and you will become a fan.

Lover at Last is the 11th in a series called "The Black Dagger Brotherhood."  Quinn, a son of no one, is used to being on  his own. (I feel him there.)  Not acknowledged by his own kin, shunned by the nobles, he finds his identity as a fighter in the war against the "Lessening Society."  The twists of this series will surprise you. The series focuses on a society of vampire warriors who live together and defend their race against de-souled humans called lessers.

Erica Jong, J.D. Salinger, Orson Wells

Comments

  1. I read this book when it first came out and I was in my early twenties. My friends and I passed it around and loved the humor in it. I do wonder if my opinion would change--reading it now 10 years later...I love her honesty and how she doesn't hold back, but her behavior can be a bit over the top.
